The River and Redwoods Film Festival (RRFF) proudly reveals their 2nd annual festival, which will be held on September 25-27, 2026 at the Monte Rio Theater & Extravaganza. This year, we have over 20 films that represent the diversity and creativity of the North Bay and Bay Area. There are films, filmmakers and artists from Monte Rio, Occidental, Forestville, Santa Rosa, Sebastopol, Sea Ranch, San Francisco, Oakland and many more cities. 

RRFF’s Festival Director, Masashi Niwano (who is also the Director of Artist Development at SFFILM) brings his film expertise to showcase the best in local cinema to the Rio Theater. “Living in San Francisco and Monte Rio, I’ve dreamed of a festival that could bring more attention and visibility to Monte Rio as its own cultural hub and home to so many incredible artists and storytellers. I’m thrilled to welcome so many talented filmmakers to our Vacation Wonderland.”

RRFF’s 3-Day festival will be packed full of screenings, film premieres, conversations with filmmakers, subjects and artists, industry events and also an incredible community bonfire by the Russian River (in partnership with the Monte Rio Fire Protection District). Many of our films have recently screened at prestigious festivals including Tribeca Film Festival, SF International Film Festival, FRAMELINE LGBTQ+ Film Festival and many more.
